The leaves are beginning to fall, Halloween is right around the corner, and the days are shorter… We will soon be giving thanks for family and friends and everything given to us in life but fall comes and quickly goes, so… Slow down, take time to enjoy the changing colors, crisp mornings, and feel inspired with a pumpkin-spiced home.

‘Feeling’ the autumn season is much easier than you think. Surround yourself with sumptuous, seasonal scents, such as pumpkin, maple, cinnamon and vanilla notes. Break out your fall candles and diffusers – Oh, and don’t forget to make your own potpourri using cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks and oranges slices. Wrap them up in cloth and surround your sheets and linens or just place them throughout your home. If that’s not enough, whip up a batch of pumpkin or banana bread on the whim.

Pumpkins and bales of hay on the front porch make for a classic invitation to your home. Large, medium or small, pumpkins are a staple for the fall season. Add a scarecrow and a pot or two of fall mums for a perfect way to top it off. You don’t have to spend a lot to decorate your yard, just look in your own backyard to create unique ideas … Utilize the fall foliage, dried branches, and pine cones to make beautiful outdoor arrangements.

It doesn't take a lot to transform your home from summer to fall, just take time to slow down, smell the coffee, and the spices around you. Life is short, enjoy the world around you!
